Summer Experiences
As the school year ends, the opportunity is just beginning for Cor Jesu students interested in learning more about future careers.
During the first week of June, students participate in five-day Summer Experiences focused on business, engineering or medicine. These immersive programs place students alongside professionals for hands-on learning, industry exposure and real-world challenges. By week’s end, students reflect on their discoveries and connect their experience to future academic and career goals. Summer Experiences will be held June 1-5, 2026.

Summer Business Experience
The Summer Business Experience gives students an inside look at how companies operate and how different areas of business work together. Throughout the week, students meet professionals representing fields such as marketing, finance, entrepreneurship and operations, gaining a clearer picture of the pathways available within the business world.
Participants collaborate on team-based challenges, analyze real scenarios and practice the communication and problem-solving skills essential to business leadership. By the end of the experience, students walk away with a stronger understanding of where their interests might fit within the broader business landscape.
Summer engineering Experience
The Engineering Experience introduces students to the many directions an engineering career can take—from civil and electrical to mechanical, biomedical and beyond. Corporate partners guide students through demonstrations and design-based activities that show how engineers solve problems and improve systems in the real world.
Students also learn about the academic side of engineering, including the skills and coursework typically involved in engineering programs. The experience helps participants identify areas of engineering that spark their curiosity and gives them confidence to pursue STEM opportunities moving forward.
Summer medicine Experience
The Summer Medicine Experience introduces students to the many pathways within the medical field, from clinical care to specialized areas of practice. Throughout the week, physicians from a range of backgrounds share insight into their training, daily work and the journey toward medical school.
Students participate in small-group shadowing, observe clinical processes and engage in activities that highlight the skills essential to patient care. Conversations with practitioners, both in casual settings and Q&A sessions, help students reflect on their interests and better understand what a future in medicine might look like.
Registration form will be available when classes resume in January.
engineering summer camp scholarships
Through the generosity of Watlow, two scholarships ($600 each) are available for any current Cor Jesu student interested in learning more about engineering by attending a summer camp at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly University of Missouri-Rolla) or SLU Parks College. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Rolla, MO campus or SLU School of Science and Engineering.
