Individual Support
Getting to know our students is important. At Cor Jesu we provide many opportunities for one-to-one interaction with our counselors.
Wellness Meetings
Every year, the Personal & Wellness Counselors meet with each student at least once for what we call a Wellness Meeting. During this individual appointment, we discuss the physical, mental, and emotional health of the student, while asking about academics, family, friendships and relationships. . Based on this conversation, we decide if any other supports need to be put in place for the best well-being of the whole student.
Academic Advising
Each year, the counselors meet with all students in the freshman, sophomore, and junior classes to discuss their course selections for the following year. Course requests are based on interests, abilities, and overall time management skills to create a balanced and personalized schedule for each individual student.
Crisis Management and Responsive Services
The Personal & Wellness Counselors are available for walk-in appointments with students to help manage situations as they arise. As needed, outside referrals for more intensive treatment can be recommended. Additionally, the counselors work as they are able with the outside treatment team to provide the best continuum of care for the students. Our counselors are certified/licensed in a variety of areas and participate in continuing education to stay current on the issues most relevant to our population.
