Monthly Charism Reflection
You might have a favorite image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Maybe it's a towering statue with outstretched arms or the mosaic in the chapel depicting the physical heart of Jesus. In the center of the mosaic is a vivid burning red heart, thorns, cross, wounds, a sign of love. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is the face of mercy, the body of compassion, and our salvation. What a comfort our faith is even when our days and weeks are fast-paced, and our lives are hectic.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus celebrates salvation, and in John 7:38 Jesus declares, "Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." Even a small amount of prayer has a way of calming our hearts, especially when we are able to tune out distractions and listen to God.
As we prepare ourselves for the Lenten season, call to mind an image of the Sacred Heart and quiet yourself in prayer. Close with the words,
"Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in you.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I believe in your love for me.
Blessed Clelia, Pray for us. Amen"
