Cor Jesu Prepares for the Beatification of Blessed Clelia Merloni

Friday was a special celebration for Cor Jesu in advance of the Beatification of Blessed Clelia Merloni in Rome on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

The First Friday Liturgy was a joyous occasion for the Cor Jesu community as it honored the upcoming Beatification of Blessed Mother Clelia. The Mass was celebrated by Father Richard Wosman. During the Mass, Dr. Tom Curran talked about the history of Italy during the time of Mother Clelia’s life, Sr. Barbara Thomas, ASCJ described the various missions of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart throughout the world, and Anna Jost ’20 told how the students at Cor Jesu live the charism of Blessed Clelia.

Medals of Mother Clelia were blessed and distributed to all in attendance. The sisters were presented with a plaque commemorating the Beatification as well as letters of gratitude from students, faculty and staff.

As a special surprise, following Mass students were able to Skype with Sr. Mary Grace Giaimo, Mrs. Linda Martin and Ms. Tricia Molnar, who are in Rome representing Cor Jesu at the Beatification.
