"May the Precious Blood of Jesus fill all your hearts and draw you to Himself."
"Sharing the Love of the Heart of Christ"
New York Times Best-selling Author and CJ Graduate Heather Beach Maclean ’90 Visits CJA
Heather Beach Maclean ’90, a New York Times best-selling author and editor of 15 books, made a stop at Cor Jesu on Friday, April 7, 2017 – just a few days after her newest work, "Toward a Secret Sky," hit the bookshelves – to share her life and work experiences with CJ English classes.
According to Heather’s website, “after graduating from Princeton University, she began her career at Entertainment Weekly. Named one of the ‘16 Best Entrepreneurs in America’ by Sir Richard Branson, she accompanied the adventurous business legend on a 50,000-mile trip around the world, alternately helping improve the lives of others (designing sustainable development initiatives in South African villages) and fearing for her own (rappelling out of a Black helicopter in a Moroccan sandstorm). She was also the first civilian mom to experience zero gravity aboard a ‘space plane,’ an experience she will never, ever repeat. Their journey, titled The Rebel Billionaire, was televised on Fox TV in 2005 for an audience of eight million viewers. Heather is also a former Disney executive. She launched several of the company's first, award-winning websites and holds the distinction of being the first person to ever answer Mickey Mouse’s email. When not castle hunting in her husband’s native Scotland, Heather fills her days with her two daughters, Hunter and Hadley, and son, Gavin.”
"Toward a Secret Sky" is Heather’s first work of fiction, a fast-paced thriller for young adults, set in the highlands of Scotland. The book is available online and in stores from HarperCollins Publishers/Blink. For more information about Heather’s books, visit www.heather-maclean.com.
