Watlow Scholars Named for the 2019-20 School Year

Cor Jesu seniors Isobel Dernlan and Anastasia Ramig were named this year’s Watlow Scholars, an award which includes a $7,500 scholarship toward their 2019-20 high school tuition and a paid internship at Watlow the summer after their graduation from Cor Jesu.

Melissa Lanham, a representative from Watlow's Hannibal plant visited CJA on September 6 to present these awards to Claire and Catherine, immediately following First Friday Liturgy.

To qualify for the Watlow Scholars award, Cor Jesu juniors who meet the following criteria may apply in February, 2020:
  • Have successfully completed her junior year of studies through date of application
  • Demonstrate an interest in engineering
  • Demonstrate legitimate financial need
  • Submit an essay, detailing her engineering interest
  • Commit to an internship at Watlow for summer 2021
  • Have a willingness to give back to Cor Jesu’s engineering program
The Watlow Scholars award is part of the Cor Jesu Corporate Partners Initiative, established in spring 2012 to enhance learning and expand the definition of college preparatory through collaboration with professionals in business and non-profit sectors.
