Cor Jesu in the Spotlight at the St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards

Congratulations to the cast and crew of 42nd Street who won in four awards at the St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards on Sunday, June 2.

Cor Jesu was nominated for Outstanding Production – Budget Level 2, Outstanding Ensemble, Outstanding Scenic Design and Execution, and Outstanding Technical Execution. Anna Gassett and Annie Struckhoff were nominated for Outstanding Actress and Michael Harp and Sam Guillemette were nominated for Outstanding Actor. Cor Jesu’s Music Director, Kathleen Pottinger was nominated for Oustanding Musical Direction.

Cor Jesu was named the winner in the following categories:
Outstanding Musical Direction: Kathleen Wobbe Pottinger '88
Outstanding Lead Actress: Anna Gassett '19
Outstanding Lead Actor: Michael Harp
Outstanding Technical Execution

Anna and Michael will travel to New York to compete in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (The Jimmy Awards) on Monday, June 24. Prior to the awards ceremony, they will participate in a ten-day professional training program with theatre professionals. Since the founding of the National High School Theatre Awards program in 2009, more than $2,000,000 has been awarded in scholarships to talented students.
