"My education at Cor Jesu was “other” oriented through activities such as fund-raising, student council and theater productions. But, just as vital was the sense of community and personal responsibility for the well-being of classmates. In addition, there was the strong emphasis on academic performance, which reinforced the principle that an individual had an obligation to share talent, whatever the talent may be…Most of all, though, it is the example of the Cor Jesu students, faculty and alumnae, who encourage and support the philosophy of “service.” I feel, and have always felt, that I am fortunate and blessed to have received such a quality education at a formative time in my life. More than any other education I have received, I believe that my years at Cor Jesu were the most influential.

I have been the President of St. John’s Mercy Auxiliary and the Friends of Birthright Counseling–St. Louis. After my first novel was published, I continued to remain active in these organizations and coordinate the newsletter for Friends of Birthright, St. Louis. I have also served as Publicity Chair for the St. Louis Writers’ Guild and remain an active member. Currently, I am the president of the Missouri Writers’ Guild and a Board member of the Midwest Chapter, Mystery Writers of America, as well as a member of the St. Louis Metropolitan Press Club. I also serve as a judge for the Missouri Big Read competition, grades 4-6. In addition to my writing, my most recent interest is sponsoring creative-writing competitions in grade schools to encourage creativity and reading comprehension.

I am proud of Cor Jesu, what it was and what is has become, and am very grateful for what I received during the years I spent there. Years have passed, and still, my classmates remain lovely women, inside and out. They are standouts – whatever they do, wherever they go – and the story continues!"
