HOW TO ESTABLISH AN ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

Establishing a Named Scholarship is a significant way to fulfill an immediate and future need for providing financial aid to Cor Jesu Academy students. There are three levels of endowed scholarships at Cor Jesu Academy:

1. Partially Endowed Scholarship

  • Established with a contribution of $20,000.
  • This scholarship allows Cor Jesu to offer partial-tuition remission annually.
  • 5% of the Endowed Scholarship balance is awarded to a student annually.

2. Semi-Endowed Scholarship

  • Established with a contribution of $150,000.
  • This scholarship allows Cor Jesu to offer half-tuition remission annually to one student.

3. Fully Endowed Student Scholarship

  • Established with a contribution of $250,000.
  • This scholarship allows Cor Jesu to offer full-tuition remission plus fees, lunch, transportation, uniform and extracurricular activities annually to one student.

HOW ARE SCHOLARSHIPS STARTED & COMPLETED?

Endowed scholarships can be made with a single gift. They may also be started with a seed gift of $5,000 or more and an agreement to complete the endowment over time. Endowed scholarships may be completed through recurring giving or through a will bequest or other estate-plan provisions.

Gifts may be in the form of cash, appreciated securities, property, or through a Donor Advised Fund. All gifts to the Endowment Fund are tax-deductible.  To make your gift, download and complete the commitment form and return to Cor Jesu Academy, 10230 Gravois Road, St. Louis, MO 63123, Attn: Katie Thiemann, Endowed Scholarship.

BENEFITS OF ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS

An Endowed Scholarship provides a personal and permanent way for you to make a difference in the life of a student and her family. Your investment ensures that you will personally provide a Cor Jesu education for a deserving student during her time at Cor Jesu and for future students in perpetuity.

All Endowed Scholarship funds are invested together in a separate fund. The assets are invested in a fully diversified portfolio and part of a disciplined investment program overseen by Cor Jesu’s Investment Committee. Scholarships are provided by the distributions made from the investment portfolio.

Scholarship eligibility at Cor Jesu Academy is determined by a need-based assessment through FACTS Management.
