Get Charged! Visit Program
Cor Jesu encourages all interested students to visit the school prior to applying. Eighth graders are encouraged to spend an entire school day at Cor Jesu “shadowing” a current student to learn what a typical day at Cor Jesu is like. We only offer the "Get Charged" visit program to 8th grade students in the Fall of their 8th grade year.

Who is permitted to visit at Cor Jesu?
We invite students to visit in the fall of their 8th grade year. We do not permit 7th grade students to visit at this time.
When do visit days take place?
Visit days for 8th graders begin September 16, 2016 and run through November 11, 2016.
How and when do I schedule my visit day?
Our online Visit Request Form will go live on August 1, 2016. You may schedule your appointment via this form any time after this date. We ask that you please try to schedule your visit at least 7 days in advance. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis. We do have a limit of 25 students visiting per day, due to classroom space and teacher to student ratio, so please schedule early to reserve your date. We will do our best to accommodate your scheduling preference; however, please have an alternative date(s) in mind in the event we are booked. We are grateful for your cooperation and understanding regarding this policy.
Are visits a half day or a full day?
Cor Jesu runs on a block schedule, which means we have four 85-minute classes per day. For this reason, we do not schedule any half-day visits, as this would not allow for the fullest classroom experience.
Who will I be paired with for my visit day at Cor Jesu? May I request someone?
8th graders are paired with current sophomores, as they have been at Cor Jesu for a full year and are familiar with the campus. When scheduling your visit, we make sure to ask for your favorite subjects and hobbies, so we can do our best to match you with a CJ student who shares those same interests. Requests may be made for a specific shadow guide only if she is a member of the Student Ambassador Program or a family member.
What do I wear on my visit day?
School uniform or school appropriate attire is suggested for visit days. We do request that students not wear jeans, sweatpants or shorts (unless otherwise indicated upon reservation, i.e. Dress Down Days/Spirit Days).
When and where do I go for check-in and pick up?
Check-in and pick-up for visitors will be in the main office lobby. Check-in is at 8:30 a.m., pick-up will be at 2:40 p.m. (unless otherwise indicated upon reservation, i.e. Early Dismissal Days). Thursdays at Cor Jesu are 1:40 dismissal days throughout the school year, so if your date falls on a Thursday, the pick-up time would be at 1:40.
Please note that we are changing the drop-off time to 8:30 for 2016. We are expecting an increase in traffic during the morning drop-off period for our students due to the roadwork changes during the construction of our new Gymnasium and Commons area and we want to minimize any confusion and inconvenience for our 8th grade visitors. We still have a full day of activities planned so that visitors will able to experience a typical day at Cor Jesu. You can find the latest information on parking and roadwork updates as well as view the latest progress on the construction by clicking here.
Should I bring anything with me?
We will provide you with a free lunch from our cafeteria, as well as a free drink coupon. You are welcome to bring a water bottle for the school day if you would like. We encourage visitors not to bring books to read, homework, iPads, etc. We feel these will be distractions from the classroom and social experience of your visit. We will provide all the materials you need for a fun filled day!
Please contact Erin Buechter at email@example.com if you have any questions about visiting after these dates.
Cor Jesu does not offer shadow visit opportunities for 7th grade students in the Spring.
