Spring Sports Information

Spring Tryouts begin Monday, March 3, 2025. All spring sports athletes will check in with the athletic department in the gym immediately after school on Monday, March 3. All participants will then attend a brief meeting at 2:50 in the auditorium.

Anyone trying out for a spring sport must have an updated PRIVIT account with a current physical uploaded to the account to participate. Details for this are below. Anyone that plays a spring sport that has not already attended the fall or winter rules meeting, will need to attend the rules meeting on Tuesday, March 12 at 6:15pm in the Little Theater.

Due to the weather in the spring, be prepared. Practice times may change, you may be practicing in cold temperatures, or you may have to move to an indoor practice. Make sure you always have proper shoes for indoor practices (cleats cannot be worn inside) and make sure you have a water bottle each day.

We will be using SportsU to communicate during the season. Athletes and their parents can upload the SportsU app to their cell phones. Each coach will provide the invitation to join that teams SportsU roster.

2025 Spring Sports Tryouts

Lacrosse

Soccer

Monday, March 3 - Friday, March 7

Participants need to attend the check-in for a pre-tryout meeting immediately after school on Monday March 3.

Monday: 3:30 - 5:45 - all participants

Tuesday: 3:15 (warm up) 3:30 - 5:30 all participants

Wednesday: V – 3-5:15; JV/F – 4-6 pm (you will receive an email the night before with your practice time)

Thursday: V - 3-5:15; JV/F 3:30-5:30

Friday: V - 3-5:15; JV/F 3:30-5:30

All weekday practices will be finished no later than 6 pm.

All teams will practice on Saturday March 8^th.

- Fr/Soph → Please put your last name on the back of your shirt/jacket. Duct tape works best.

- Be prepared for all types of weather: rain, snow, sleet, hot, sunny, etc.

- Shin guards must be worn at all times when playing

- Bring your own water and plenty of it. The outdoor drinking fountain will not be turned back on until the end of March.

- Bring cleats and running/indoor shoes daily

Regardless of what team you were on last year, this is a tryout. Be prepared to work. You are not guaranteed a spot on a team.

Track

Track is a no cut sports at Cor Jesu, but participants are expected to be at each practice. We practice daily at Vianney; carpools will be set up by upperclassmen if you don't have a car. Our practices will be from 3:20 to 5 pm at the latest (some days will be shorter than others).

Throwers will be at Cor Jesu the first week of practice. For everyone else, We will be doing an introduction to all track and field events the first week, and will follow up on week two with a time trial/testing. All girls should be ready to go at Vianney at 3:20 and have the appropriate clothing for practice with consideration of the weather.

PRIVIT Account

Any returning student athlete in grades 10-12 interested in trying out for a sport needs to update their account on PRIVIT.
Incoming freshmen need to create a new account by July 15.
If the student has a PRIVIT account at another school, a different email address must be used to create an account for Cor Jesu.
Please make sure that email addresses for both student and parents are entered into PRIVIT.
PRIVIT is used to communicate with participants during the season. If you have a new physical for 2022, you can upload it to your PRIVIT account.
The 2021 MSHSAA physical on file at Cor Jesu is good for 2 years, unless otherwise noted by the athlete's doctor.
