Four-year Curriculum Overview

Cor Jesu is a four-year high school primarily defined as a Catholic, private, girls' college preparatory school. Basic course and attendance requirements must be met by all students who attend Cor Jesu. These requirements are eight semesters of attendance in high school and the completion of 27** credits distributed as follows:

*The University of Missouri state colleges (University of Missouri-St. Louis, University of Missouri-Kansas City, Missouri University of Science and Technology and University of Missouri-Columbia), as well as other schools, require four years of high school mathematics. Please check with your counselor or the college you plan to attend.

AP, ACC, ACP & Honors Classes

Although the following are expected of all Cor Jesu Students, in order to be successful in AP/ACC/ACP or HONORS courses, students must consistently demonstrate:

  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn
  • A cooperative and positive attitude
  • A strong work ethic
  • A responsible attitude towards assignments and homework
  • Consistent achievement in their work
  • Ability to work independently
  • The ability to seek out the resources needed to succeed
  • Higher order thinking skills reflected in writing, speaking and reading comprehension
  • Active participation in class
  • That they are part of a learning community.

Grading

Cor Jesu uses a weighted grading system. Each course is given a quality point (QP) rating of 4.8 for AP, ACC, and honors courses and a QP rating of 4.3 for college-preparatory courses.
