Choosing the right St. Louis Catholic high school for girls is an exciting journey, but it can also feel overwhelming. At Cor Jesu Academy, a leading private Catholic high school for young women, we want you to feel supported every step of the way. Below, we’ve answered some of the questions we hear most often from prospective families.
What sets Cor Jesu apart?
Cor Jesu Academy is more than a school. It is a community where young women grow in faith, knowledge and leadership. As one of the top girls’ college preparatory schools in St. Louis, our students benefit from:
- A strong Catholic foundation that weaves theology, service and spiritual formation into everyday learning.
- A rigorous college-preparatory curriculum with honors, AP and dual-credit courses offered through Saint Louis University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
- Personalized support through our Student Learning Center and advisory program through our Career, College and Wellness Center.
- A vibrant student life with more than 90 co-curricular activities, leadership opportunities and service programs.
- Dedicated leadership and teaching by the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, whose charism shapes the school’s mission and daily life.
- Real-world experience through our Corporate Partners Initiative, connecting students with internships, mentors and career exploration.
Our mission is to help every Charger discover her gifts and use them to make a difference.
Is it hard to get in?
Cor Jesu looks for students who are eager to learn, grow and contribute. We do not publish an “acceptance rate,” but we encourage any family who believes our environment is the right fit to contact our Cor Jesu admissions team. They review each applicant carefully and holistically, considering grades, test scores, attendance, extracurricular involvement and character.
What types of standardized testing do you accept?
We review a variety of test results to understand each student’s academic profile. For merit scholarships we consider NWEA scores as well as scores from nationally recognized tests such as MAP, SSAT, ITBS, ERB or Stanford Achievement. We accept any standardized test administered by your daughter’s middle school.
Once enrolled, students have opportunities to take the PSAT, Pre-ACT and ACT on campus as part of our comprehensive college prep programs.
What should my daughter expect during her interview?
Interviews are with the applicant only. This is a chance for us to get to know your daughter, and for her to get to know us. We will talk about her academic interests, her faith life, activities she enjoys and what excites her about high school. We encourage students to be themselves, ask questions and share their goals.
What types of financial aid does Cor Jesu offer? How do we apply?
We are committed to making a Cor Jesu education affordable. Tuition assistance is available in the following ways:
- Merit-based scholarships
- Need-based tuition assistance
- Legacy Award for daughters of alumnae
Families can receive their financial aid and scholarship notifications ahead of the application deadline so they can plan ahead. Learn more about tuition and scholarships on our Tuition, Financial Aid and Scholarships page.
How does Cor Jesu prepare students for college?
- Each student is paired with two academic counselors beginning freshman year. Those counselors guide her through course planning, the college search, applications and the final decision process.
- Naviance Student helps girls explore colleges, careers and scholarships starting freshman year.
- Practice tests for PSAT and Pre-ACT are offered on campus. Seniors can take the ACT at school.
- Advanced coursework including AP and dual-credit classes gives students a head start on college credits.
- Leadership, service and wellness programs develop the confidence, resilience and communication skills that colleges value.
One hundred percent of our graduates go on to attend four-year colleges and leave Cor Jesu ready to thrive academically and personally.
