In the past few years, Cor Jesu Academy athletics has reached an unprecedented level of success. Our Chargers have surpassed milestones that once defined entire decades. What used to be rare moments of glory are now a regular part of the Cor Jesu experience.
Championship Momentum Across Sports
Soccer has become a dynasty with back-to-back state championships in 2024 and 2025. It is the first time since 2012 and only the fourth in school history.
Lacrosse captured the 2025 MSLA Championship, its second ever, while also earning Final Four and quarterfinal appearances in consecutive years.
Volleyball added to its storied tradition with the 2021 state title, bringing its total to five. Swimming also celebrated a team state championship in 2021 and produced individual state champions through 2027.
Track and field notched a state championship in 2024, and Charger athletes across many events are breaking school records almost annually.
Depth Beyond Titles
Cor Jesu teams are not just winning championships. They are consistently among the best in the state. In the last five years, Chargers have:
• Advanced to the Final Four in basketball in back-to-back years (2024 and 2025) for the first time since the mid-1990s.
• Placed top 10 in state cross country for four consecutive years (2019 to 2022), including a program-best second-place finish in 2020.
• Secured two team finishes in golf twice (2020 and 2024) and maintained a steady pipeline of state qualifiers.
• Earned repeated state and national recognition in racquetball, softball Final Four appearances and tennis state qualifiers year after year.
This sustained success has created more than trophies. It has given Cor Jesu students opportunities to compete at the highest levels and build resilience. In multiple sports, especially track and field, athletes broke old Cor Jesu records between 2015 and 2024. At the same time, more individuals than ever are qualifying for and medaling at state championships.
A Community Redefining Excellence
Measured against any previous decade, the past five years stand out as a golden era for Charger athletics. Where once one or two teams dominated headlines, today nearly every sport boasts state-level achievements. This depth reflects the dedication of our student-athletes, the expertise of our coaching staff and the support of our community.
Cor Jesu athletics is stronger, deeper and more competitive than ever before. Our students are not just playing the game. They are redefining excellence.
