After 32 years in ministry to Cor
Jesu Academy, St. Louis, MO, the longest of any Apostle in
the school's history, Sr. Theodore Bollati has been assigned
to a new ministry at the Sacred Heart Manor in Connecticut
to work with the retired sisters.
Sr. Theodore has not only managed
CJ's library for 32 years, she has been an active witness
and model of sharing the love of the heart of Christ to over
4,000 young women, parents and faculty. CJ will miss not
only her library management, but her generous hospitality,
her prayers for all, prayers for school events and weather,
prayers to St. Anthony for everyone's lost items (which
probably total thousands of found items to date!), her
concern for all in the Cor Jesu family and her constant
witness to faith in the Sacred Heart.
Wednesday, May 7, 2008 was the
day set aside by the Cor Jesu Academy community to honor Sr.
Theodore Bollati. The day began with a traditional May
Crowning honoring the Blessed Mother at which Sr. Theodore
led the students in the Act of Consecration to Mary. As
this spiritual event concluded, fellow teacher, Jane
Laurentius opened the festivities with a moving tribute to Sr.
Theodore. This was followed by a skit performed by the faculty
that depicted many funny, and
exaggerated, scenes from life in Sr. Theodore’s library.
The CJA show choir sang to Sister and
gifts were presented from each class.
For Sister Theodore,
the highlight of the day was the presentation by Sr. Barbara
Thomas, President and Sr. Kathleen Mary Coonan, Principal of
a sign proclaiming that, hereafter, Cor Jesu's library would
be known as the Sr. Theodore Bollati, ASCJ Library.
