Three New Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to Teach at CJ

The Apostles of the Sacred Heart, committed to their continued sponsorship of Cor Jesu Academy, are excited to announce the addition of three sisters to the Cor Jesu faculty for the 2008-2009 school year. These sisters will join the three Apostles already in ministry at CJ: Sr. Barbara Thomas, Sr. Kathleen Mary Coonan, Sr. Karen Skurat. The CJ community warmly welcomes:

Sr. Sharon Kalert, ASCJ ’74
A Cor Jesu graduate, Sr. Sharon is returning to her alma mater to teach English. She has taught English at Immaculate Heart Academy (a ministry of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus) in New Jersey for the past seven years. Sr. Sharon holds an M.A. in English/Secondary Ed. from Fairfield University. We are delighted to have Sr. Sharon back in St. Louis!

Sr. Christine Ann Hoffner, ASCJ
Sr. Christine Ann will teach math at Cor Jesu, beginning in the fall. She has spent the past year studying theology in Rome and previously taught middle-school math and religion at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Shelton, CT, and St. Raphael’s School in Bridgeport, CT, and math and religion at John Paul II High School in Tallahassee, FL. Sr. Christine Ann is a graduate of Stonehill College with a B.A. in Math and Secondary Ed.

Sr. Susan Francis Graham, ASCJ
Sr. Susan Francis is a second-year novice in the congregation and is coming to Cor Jesu to assist in the science department, while also taking a theology course at Aquinas Institute of Theology here in St. Louis. The formation program of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart includes a year of ministry for the novices. We are grateful that the community chose Cor Jesu for this year of ministry for Sr. Susan.
