Cor Jesu Mission Statement
140 Students, Faculty and Parents Traveled to March for Life
in Washington, D.C.

On January 20, 140 Cor Jesu students, faculty and parents boarded a bus bound for the nation's capital to be the voice for the unborn and those whose sanctity of life is compromised. Cor Jesu religion teacher, Bonnie Goodwin, has organized the annual event for the school community. Above is a picture of the students and teachers who attended this year's march.
Sharing the Love of the Heart of Christ
Cor Jesu students are encouraged to live the Gospel message by participating in community-service programs throughout their four years at Cor Jesu. Students also complete the Lasting Project service program, spending a total of 40 hours in full-time volunteer work during their junior-year spring break or the summer before they being their senior year.
Service Saturdays
Every year, the students go out into the community to serve as the heart and hands of Christ, living the Cor Jesu mission by serving others in need through Service Saturdays. The 2009-10 service dates are:
Seniors - September 26, 2009
Sophomores - October 10, 2009
Juniors - October 24, 2009
Freshmen - April 24, 2010
CARE (Christian Action Reaching Everyone)
CARE members work to improve the community through service. Committees include: Katie's Krew (making sandwiches for St. Patrick's Center), Benefit Musical (senior citizen night at the musical), Almost Home (babysitting for single moms), Casey's Angels (tutoring at area grade schools), and Christmas and Easter drives, which collect gifts for those in need. CARE also sponsors dress-down days to raise money for charities and performs other service work as needed.
