CJA Sports Philosophy
As an integral part of the Cor Jesu Academy educational mission, the Athletic Department's number-one priority is to enhance the Cor Jesu students' Christian values.
The values of teamwork, leadership, work ethic, respect, accountability, perseverance and self-control are among the many Christian values the Athletic Department Staff strives to instill in Cor Jesu students athletes.
We hope that the development of these values today will empower the young women we teach and impact their lives and the lives of others they encounter in their future.

Go, Chargers!
New but familiar faces will be taking over the Varsity Field Hockey and Softball Coaching Positions at Cor Jesu this fall.
Cor Jesu alumna Liz Fox ’04 will be heading the Field Hockey Program. A two-sport athlete during her Cor Jesu years, Fox was a standout in both field hockey and soccer – selected as captain and MVP of both sports. She went on to play soccer for St. Louis University, where she was selected 1st Team All Conference and St. Louis University Outstanding Student Athlete. Katie Brockmeyer, also a 2004 Cor Jesu graduate, has been selected as the Varsity Softball Coach for the upcoming 2010 season. Brockmeyer, a standout on both sides of the plate during her four years at Cor Jesu, went on to play college ball at Maryville University, where she was a three-time All Conference Player and an ESPN All Academic All-American. Brockmeyer has coached for the Missouri Heat Softball Club and served as Ursuline Academy’s Varsity Assistant.
Athletic Director Liz Biedenstein says this of the two candidates, “I am pleased to have the opportunity to bring two of our own back to take over coaching roles at Cor Jesu. Coach Fox and her sisters left their mark on the field during their playing years at Cor Jesu, and Coach Brockmeyer is still thought of as one of Cor Jesu’s strongest hitters in its softball program’s history. These women know what it means to be a Cor Jesu student athlete. They know what it takes to be successful on and off the field. We look forward to them joining our coaching staffs.”
