What are endowed scholarships?
Endowed scholarships are used to provide financial
aid on a need-based system for Cor Jesu students. They are established
with a single gift or through installments. Partially endowed
or fully endowed scholarships can be established. In order to
have a named scholarship, a donor is asked to contribute $16,000
for a partially endowed scholarship and $123,000 for a fully endowed
scholarship. A partially endowed scholarship allows us to offer
partial tuition remission and a fully endowed scholarship allows
us to offer full tuition remission.
How are Endowed Scholarships
started?
They can be started with a gift of $5,000 or more
and the intention to complete the endowment over time. Gifts may
be of cash, appreciated assets or property.
How are they completed?
Some people choose to establish their Endowed Scholarship
with a single gift of $16,000 or $123,000. Others make annual
contributions until the Endowed Scholarship is complete. Still
others complete an Endowed Scholarship through a bequest in their
will or through other provisions in their estate plans.
The Principal is never
spent!
Cor Jesu Academy has all Endowment money in a separate investment
fund. The principal is invested in a balanced portfolio of stable
investments. Income from these investments is used to provide
the scholarships.
This is a wonderful personal legacy for those establishing
such a scholarship. You are ensuring a future education for qualified
young women at Cor Jesu Academy in perpetuity.
