ACCREDITATION Cor Jesu Academy is accredited by AdvancedED/North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).
SCHEDULE The schedule is an 8-block schedule which rotates on a 6-day cycle. Classes meet on alternating days for 85 minutes. This schedule was implemented in 1994.
TYPE OF SCHOOL Cor Jesu Academy is a private Catholic college preparatory high school owned and operated by the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that offers a program for the total education of academically talented young women.
SCHOOL COMMUNITY Cor Jesu was founded in 1956 in the city of St. Louis and moved to its present location in St. Louis County in 1965. The school draws its applicants from 70 elementary schools, both public and private.
ADMISSIONS Admission to Cor Jesu is very competitive. It is based on a personal interview, elementary school standardized test scores and grades.
CLASS RANKING Cor Jesu students are not ranked numerically. In keeping with the recommendation of the NASSP and the North Central Association, all credit subjects are used in determining honor rolls.
CURRICULUM FEATURES Cor Jesu offers both ACC courses (Advanced College Credit) under the auspices of St. Louis University, as well as AP (Advanced Placement) in English, Mathematics, History, Science, Music and Art. The Cor Jesu curriculum currently is comprised of a total of 26 4.5 classes, which include seven honors courses, 10 ACC courses, 2 AP courses and 7 AP/ACC courses.
